Aseel Ayesh
Aseel Ayesh is in her third and final year as an undergraduate
student at Grand Valley. She is double majoring in accounting and
finance, and is a student in the Frederik Meijer Honors College and a
mentor in the Seidman Mentorship program. In addition to that, Aseel
is part of the BBA/MSA Combined Degree program where she is further
enriching her educational career at Grand Valley by pursuing a
master's degree in Scientific Accounting--a stepping stone towards
obtaining her CPA license. Last winter, Aseel volunteered at a VITA
site, where in collaboration with the Seidman College of Business,
United Way, and the IRS, she prepared income tax returns for
underserved community members. She is looking forward to volunteering
in the program again this year, and is searching for more
opportunities to utilize her expertise in helping others. Aseel is
still exploring a career path to pursue post-graduation, yet she is
determined to follow one that will give her an opportunity to give
back to her community. Her recent nine-month internship with Corewell
Health’s tax department demonstrated her practical skills and paved
the way for a growing interest in exploring opportunities within the
nonprofit healthcare industry, as well as pave the way for a growing
interest in pursuing another master's degree; a Master of Healthcare
Administration. During her free time, Aseel enjoys traveling with her
family and practicing tatreez, a form of Palestinian embroidery. Among
Aseel's goals this year is to grow her leadership abilities, become a
better person, and work to leave a positive and memorable impact
during her last year as an undergraduate student.
