人力资源转型

As GVSU embarks on a new chapter with the Reach Higher 2025 campaign, we intend to reposition 人力资源 to improve the quality of our 服务 and better support the needs of GVSU. 为此,都在 process of restructuring our current working areas and roles within 这个部门. We thank you for your patience as we reimagine Human Resources to align with the vision of the university we aspire to become.

  • In June 2021, we began conducting an internal audit, external department reviews, surveys and focus groups to assist in charting 我们前进的方向.
  • As we gathered feedback and began developing a plan forward, it was decided that there will be four key areas of support for our GVSU employee community once our construction is complete: Human Resource Business Partners, 总回报, 人才管理, and 咨询服务

  • Our upcoming strategic departmental changes will occur over the next four years until we reach our final intended state.

It's no secret that 2022 was a big year of transformative change and progress for us. 查看我们的 年度回顾 for an overview of what we focused on in 2022, as well as a glimpse into 2023 plans.

  • Continue internal training and development of Lean continuous improvement.

  • Beginning February 1, 2022, 人力资源 will acclimate the university community with the new HR Generalists and Business Partners through personal introductions across campus.
  • Train staff in 人才管理 and develop “GV DNA” competencies, as well as 人才管理 processes and opportunities.
  • Conduct a LEAN/Kaizen continuous improvement event the last week in February to reassess and transform the recruitment processes and methods for acquiring talent for the university.
  • 重组的好处 & 将健康纳入总奖励. 总计 Rewards will encompass 工资 and all of GVSU's employee benefits. Wellness will no longer be an 'area,' but instead an aspect that will be incorporated into all areas of 人力资源.

Complete: September 2021 - January 2022

The HR Business Partner Model means employees will be assigned, based on their department/area, to a specific 人力资源 Customer Service Representative (also known as a HR Generalist). 对于人力资源的需求, from benefits to employment, your specific HR representative will be 你的联系.

The HR Business Partner model will also encompass 人才收购 人力资源合规和薪酬.


转型发展

新的总奖励运营中心

人力资源 recently created the 总回报 Operations Center (TROC), which is evolving from a merger between 工资, 好处 and Wellness, and HR Administration and Technology. 我们相信这次合并 will drive much-needed synergies and efficiencies, and will help eliminate gaps between our shared operations.

总回报 will drive much of the 人力资源 operations. By integrating 工资 into the 人力资源 business model, we are improving communications between these closely related functions and exploring areas to streamline and improve our current processes and 服务. All 人力资源 functions and team members will continue to work together to create a cohesive unit and provide all GVSU employees with a world-class experience.

新招聘流程更新

自从……转换 员工招聘流程的活动, 人力资源 has been working diligently with campus partners to develop a new hiring process that will decrease the amount of time 从申请到录用缩短了50%. 新流程是结构化的 three stages and consists of specific steps in each stage. 我们是 excited to announce the anticipated launch date for the new hiring 程序在5月下旬.

转换 员工招聘流程 at GVSU

During the last week in February 2022, the 人力资源 team and colleagues from across campus evaluated the GVSU recruitment process utilizing Lean improvement methodologies. 在这段深入的 process, they dug in to explore and evaluate the hiring processes for faculty, administrative professional staff and hourly employees. 每一个 step from the Hiring Approval Form to an acceptance offer was reimagined to ensure consistency and efficiency across the university.
